The Kogi State Ministry of Education has announced that schools across the state will resume on Monday, February 23, following an emergency mid-term break prompted by security concerns.

The state government had earlier ordered the indefinite closure of both public and private schools on February 3 as a precautionary measure against insecurity.

In a statement issued on Friday in Lokoja, the Director of Basic and Secondary Education, Matthew Salami, confirmed that normal academic activities would recommence on the scheduled date.

He said all school heads should take note of the directive, adding that both day and boarding students are expected to return as classes resume statewide.

The ministry also appreciated the cooperation of students, parents and school staff during the period of closure, noting that further updates would be communicated where necessary.
