Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State on Tuesday visited six soldiers receiving treatment after sustaining injuries during a counterterrorism operation in Kaiama.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, the governor was quoted as saying that several terrorists were neutralised during the intense operation, although three soldiers lost their lives.
During the visit, AbdulRazaq announced a donation of ₦20 million to each of the families of the fallen soldiers, as well as ₦5 million for each of the injured personnel, bringing the total support package to ₦90 million.
He described the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces as invaluable, praising their dedication to safeguarding the nation.
The governor also commended the standard of care at the Intensive Care Unit of the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital, where the injured soldiers are being treated, noting that the facility reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery in the state.
