A Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja on Tuesday arraigned one Olusola Shedrach over the alleged forceful takeover and destruction of property belonging to Harvesters Church along the Gbagada–Oworonshoki Expressway.
Shedrach was docked before Justice Hakeem Oshodi on a three-count charge bordering on forceful takeover of landed property, wilful damage, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, all preferred against him by the Lagos State Government.
State prosecutor Olufunmilayo Aluko told the court that the defendant allegedly seized the church’s property by force and destroyed items on the premises, while also conducting himself in a manner capable of causing a public disturbance.
The charges were brought under Section 2(1) of the Lagos State Properties Protection Law, 2016, and Sections 350 and 168(d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Shedrach pleaded not guilty to all three counts.
Following his plea, defence counsel O. Odueso applied for a short adjournment to enable the filing and hearing of a bail application, which the prosecution did not oppose.
Justice Oshodi adjourned the case to April 22 for the bail application hearing and fixed June 17, 2026, for the commencement of trial.
