The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversion for the 2025 Capital City Race slated for Saturday, November 22, 2025.
The Director of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Bolanle Ogunlola, made this known in a statement on Thursday.
Ogunlola said the race would be held between 6.00 a.m. and 9.00 a.m. on Saturday.
She stated that the 10km race organised by the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) was in collaboration with the Capital City Race Organisers.

“The race will start off from Ikeja Shopping Mall through Billings Way to Kudirat Abiola Way to Opebi link bridge, Adeniyi Jones, Oba Akran (LASUTH) ending up at Arch Bishop Vining Memorial Church on Oba Akinjobi Way, Ikeja,” she said.
Ogunlola said some roads, junctions, and intersections along the race routes would be partially closed to traffic during the competition and opened intermittently as the race progresses.
She added that officers of the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) would be on duty to guide motorists and ensure safety.
“Motorists are advised to be patient as the partial road closure is part of traffic management plan to manage traffic during the race,” Ogunlola added.
