Lagos govt seals 12 firms over environmental violations

The Lagos State Government has sealed no fewer than 12 companies over alleged violations of environmental regulations in the state.

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) made this known in a statement posted on its X account on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

LASEPA said the affected establishments, which operated in the Ijora Causeway and Apapa areas of Lagos State, were sealed on Wednesday, August 5, after persistently violating environmental regulations despite repeated warnings, abatement notices, and several opportunities to comply with the agency’s directives.

“The affected facilities were found to have contravened various environmental regulations and failed to comply with corrective measures issued by the Agency,” LASEPA added.

The agency listed the affected firms to include Helmar Building Materials, located at 8 Ijora Causeway, Ijora, Lagos; Laprivad Nigeria Limited, located at Causeway behind Funky Yetty, Ijora, Lagos; Innocast Nigeria Limited at Saka Alao Street, Apapa, Lagos; Body Language Shipping & Cargo at Liverpool Road, Apapa, Lagos; and Laodo Control Jetty, located at Creek Road, Apapa, Lagos.

Others include Adaps Nigeria Limited at Solomon Agbontan Road, Apapa, Lagos; Kehdi Equipments Limited at Burma Road, Apapa, Lagos; Bulus Hotel, located at Kofo Abayomi Street, Apapa, Lagos; and Park Inn Hotel at Caulcrick Road, Apapa, Lagos.

Also sealed were Mandarin Supermarket, located at Warehouse Road, Apapa, Lagos; Hamada Enterprises at Warehouse Road, Apapa, Lagos; and Infinity Pirelli Tyres at Warehouse Road, Apapa, Lagos.

Speaking on the enforcement operation, the General Manager of LASEPA, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to protecting public health and preserving the environment through consistent monitoring, compliance enforcement, and implementation of environmental regulations across Lagos State.

Ajayi stated that environmental compliance remains a collective responsibility, stressing that the agency would continue to intensify enforcement actions against individuals, businesses, and corporate organisations whose activities pose risks to the environment and public wellbeing.

The LASEPA boss urged business owners, facility operators, and residents to embrace environmentally responsible practices, obtain necessary approvals, comply with regulatory requirements, and cooperate with LASEPA in its mission to build a cleaner, healthier, and pollution free Lagos.
