Lagos police arrest dismissed naval officer for impersonation, extortion

The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a dismissed Nigerian Navy officer, Muhammed Tunde, for allegedly impersonating a serving military personnel and lending himself out to assault people.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, April 6, 2024.

Hundeyin noted that the naval officer dismissed in 2000 was arrested while he and his boys were beating a hotel staff in Lagos.

He stated: “Dismissed Nigerian Navy personnel, Muhammed Tunde (dismissed since 2000), making people believe he’s a serving military personnel, charges N20,000 to bring his boys and beat up anybody for you.

“He was apprehended while he and his boys were beating a hotel staff.

“The job was contracted to him by one of the hotel customers who was asked to stop smoking in a ‘no smoking’ area of the hotel.

“Prosecution follows!”
