Lagos police arrest vigilantes for setting suspected thief ablaze

The officers of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested vigilante personnel for allegedly setting a suspected thief ablaze in the Itire area of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, March 5, 2024.

Hundeyin said the Itire Police Division received a distress call from a resident at about 5 a.m. on Monday, noting that the resident, who lives on Shonde Street in Itire, reported that some thieves came and vandalised his car.

He quoted the resident as saying that after raising an alarm, one suspect was arrested.
