Lagos police: Autopsy confirmed Davido’s son drowned

The Lagos State Police Command says the autopsy conducted on the corpse of Ifeanyi Adeleke, the three-year-old son of famous singer, David Adeleke, well known as Davido, revealed that he died as a result of drowning.

It would be recalled that Ifeanyi, who turned three on October 20, reportedly drowned in a swimming pool at Davido’s residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State on Monday.

The little boy was said to have been rushed to a hospital in the Lekki area of the state where he was confirmed dead.

The DMW boss and the mother of the boy, Chioma Rowland, were said to have traveled for a family gathering in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Monday and left Ifeanyi with his minders.

However, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, told newsmen on Saturday that the singer’s son has been confirmed drowned.

“Autopsy has been concluded. It confirms the boy (Ifeanyi) drowned,” the police spokesperson disclosed.

No fewer than eight domestic workers of Davido were interrogated by the police command in connection with Ifeanyi’s death.

While six domestic workers were released by the police, the cook and nanny, whose job was to cater for the wellbeing of the three-year-old boy, have since been in detention for reasons including the failure to take good care of the minor.
