Lagos police probe officer’s 4-year pregnancy

The Lagos State Police Command has commenced an investigation following a viral video in which a female police officer alleged she has been pregnant for four years under controversial circumstances.

In the video circulating on social media, the officer, who identified herself as a single mother of three, said she had sought spiritual intervention, adding that a man she referred to as “Alhaji” was responsible for her predicament.

The officer described her situation as desperate, urging Nigerians to come to her aid regardless of her status as a member of the Nigeria Police Force.

She said: “I am a police officer, a single mother of 3, and carrying a pregnancy for four years now. I have sought spiritual solutions to the pregnancy, and I was told it was the Alhaji who impregnated me is the one responsible for my ordeal. I have challenged him, but he asked me to call police, and I have seen police officers acting cordial with him and also collecting money from him.

“My last resort is you, Nigerian citizens, please help me, don’t think or look at that I am a police officer.”

Reacting to the development, the Lagos State Police Command confirmed it is aware of the video and has begun taking steps to address the matter.

“The Command has taken cognizance of this viral video currently circulating on social media and is already taking necessary steps to address the matter,” the command wrote on X on Friday, March 20, 2026.
