Lecturer arrested with 17 BVAS in C/River

Security operatives have arrested a middle-aged man, Gabriel Agabi, over alleged impersonation and being in possession of 17 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in Okpoma, Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State.

Agabi, who claimed to be a lecturer in the philosophy department of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), was arrested at the collation centre in the Okpoma area of the state.

He was arrested with BVAS not programmed for the ward he was apprehended.

The lecturer, who hails from Ugoro in Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State, was said to have impersonated the INEC collation officer for Yache ward in Yala LGA, Dominic Abakedi.

It was however gathered that Agabi has been taken to police custody in Ogoja Area Command for further investigation.
