Former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has expressed deep appreciation to Nigerians and political figures who stood by him during what he described as a challenging period marked by media scrutiny and public speculation.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Mohammed Bello Doka, Malami thanked family members, friends, and supporters for their prayers, encouragement, and belief in due process, noting that their support strengthened his resolve.
He also acknowledged prominent political figures, including Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, Rotimi Amaechi, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Peter Obi, and others for their solidarity and “principled intervention” during the period.
Malami said their support demonstrated courage and commitment to justice, especially at a time when, according to him, “silence would have been more convenient.”
While expressing confidence that truth and justice would ultimately prevail, the former minister stressed that the situation goes beyond personal circumstances, describing it as part of a broader struggle for justice and accountability in Nigeria.
He called on Nigerians to remain steadfast and join efforts aimed at rebuilding hope, strengthening the rule of law, and promoting national integrity.
Malami warned that the country is at a critical point in its history and requires courageous leadership and active citizen participation to overcome its challenges.
“The struggle is just beginning,” he said, urging citizens not to give in to despair but to work collectively toward reclaiming the nation’s future.
He concluded by offering prayers for his supporters and reaffirming his commitment to justice and national development.
