Mamman Daura recounts Buhari’s final moments before death

Alhaji Mamman Daura, a close confidant and nephew of late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has shared emotional details of Buhari’s final hours before his passing in London.

In an interview with newsmen, Daura revealed that he spent Saturday evening with Buhari at the London Clinic, where the former President was receiving medical care.

According to him, Buhari was in good spirits and had been preparing to return to Nigeria in the coming days.

“We were together on Saturday, talking and laughing.

“He was in high spirits,” Daura recalled.

“He had plans to return to Nigeria after his discharge and made sure hotel bills for those who came to support him in London were being settled.”

Daura said he left the clinic at about 9 p.m. on Saturday, with the intention of returning the following afternoon.

Buhari, he noted, was eagerly awaiting a scheduled doctor’s visit on Sunday morning.

However, Buhari’s condition deteriorated unexpectedly on Sunday.

Around midday, he began to experience breathing difficulties, prompting immediate medical intervention.

Despite doctors’ efforts, Buhari passed away at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Daura described the loss as sudden and painful, especially after what seemed like a hopeful turnaround just a day earlier.
