Man arrested for defiling 4 boys in Adamawa

A 22-year-old commercial tricyclist, Habubakar Umar, has been arrested for allegedly defiling four boys aged between eight and nine in Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the arrest on Thursday, stating that Umar, a resident of Rumde Baru, was apprehended on May 14, 2025, following a complaint from the father of two victims.

According to the police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the suspect had been hired to transport the children to school but instead repeatedly lured them into sexual acts.

Umar reportedly confessed to the crime, attributing his actions to “the devil.”

The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, condemned the incident and ordered a thorough investigation, with plans to prosecute the suspect swiftly.

The police urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and report suspicious individuals to authorities.
