Man beats daughter’s boyfriend to death in Ekiti

The operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command have apprehended a middle-aged man, identified simply as Ibrahim, over the alleged murder of his daughter’s boyfriend.

It was gathered that Ibrahim, who was subsequently arraigned by the police, was remanded by the Ekiti State Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

Ibrahim was accused of fatally assaulting the young man after discovering his relationship with his daughter.

The incident was said to have occurred when the deceased visited the girl at her father’s residence near the popular Corpers’ Lodge along New Iyin Road in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

The father, who wasn’t happy with their courtship, was said to have mobilised his siblings to beat up the young man.

It was learnt that the young man died from excessive bleeding following the injury sustained from the attack.

Confirming the incident, the Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, said: “The girl’s father and two other suspects have been arraigned and remanded in prison.”
