Man electrocuted in Lagos

A 45-year-old electrician has been electrocuted while attempting to reconnect electricity cables to a pole in the Shasha area of Lagos State.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident via a statement issued on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

Hundeyin disclosed that the incident occurred at about 11:30 a.m. on August 10.

Gunmen ambush electoral officials in Edo

Hundeyin stated: “The electrician lost his life while reconnecting electricity cables to an electric pole at Shasha.

“When the case was reported, a team of police detectives visited the scene.

“He was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.”

The police spokesman added that an investigation into the electrocution was ongoing.
