Man slumps, dies on Ondo road

A middle-aged man has been confirmed dead after slumping at Ikare Junction in Owo, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Akure, the state capital, on Monday, August 24, 2026.

It was gathered that the victim was standing at Ikare Junction in Owo before he suddenly slumped and died on the spot.

Jimoh said: “The Police Command in Ondo State is aware of the incident involving an unidentified man who reportedly slumped and died around Ikare Junction, Owo, on August 20.

“Police detectives visited the scene and observed no visible mark of violence on the deceased.

“The body was taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, where a doctor on duty confirmed him dead and the corpse was subsequently deposited at the hospital mortuary.”

Jimoh, who said the command had been making efforts to establish the identity of the deceased and trace his relatives, urged the people of the state to contact the nearest police station or the command for useful information.
