A yet-to-be-ascertained number of people have died after a petrol-laden tanker exploded on Bida-Agaei Expressway in Niger State.
It was gathered that the tanker skidded off the road, fell, and exploded on Tuesday afternoon.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Niger State, Aishatu Sa’adu, confirmed the explosion.
Sa’adu said the casualty figure could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.

Sa’adu, however, said that FRSC officers have since been conducting a rescue operation at the scene of the explosion.
She added that the incident has caused a heavy gridlock on the ever-busy expressway,
The FRSC official stated that the deplorable state of the road also impacted response time for the rescue operation.
