A yet-to-be-ascertained number of people have been feared dead and several civil servants injured after a train crushed a Lagos State Government staff bus at PWD area of the state.
It was gathered that the incident occurred at about 7 a.m. on Thursday.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, (LASTMA), Taofiq Adebayo, said rescue operation was ongoing.
“The accident recorded many casualties as the staff bus is fully loaded with government officials going to office this morning,” Adebayo said.
The Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed that two civil servants lost their lives in the accident.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) also confirmed that two bodies have been recovered at the scene of the accident.
Both agencies blamed the BRT bus driver for the accident.
The incident occurred at about 7a.m. on Thursday at PWD Bus Stop, Off Old Works Road, Ikeja.
The bus was carrying Lagos State Government staff.
