Many feared trapped as building collapses in Lagos

A three-storey building has collapsed in the Alakija area of Lagos State, leaving several people feared trapped beneath the debris.

The incident reportedly occurred around 11:40 a.m. on Thursday, although the exact number of persons affected could not be immediately confirmed.

Residents and bystanders gathered at the scene as concerns grew over the fate of those believed to be trapped under the rubble.

As of the time of filing this report, emergency responders had yet to arrive at the location, while rescue efforts were still being awaited.

The cause of the collapse remains unknown, and there was no immediate information on casualties or injuries.

Authorities are expected to commence rescue operations as efforts intensify to locate and evacuate those trapped in the wreckage.
