Gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked four communities in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State and killed many residents in the areas.

The affected communities are Aba Alajido, Aba Sunday, Aba Pastor, and Ademekun in the Akure North LGA of Ondo State.

It was gathered that many people living in the communities were killed during an attack which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, March 8, 2025.

Speaking with the newsmen in Akure, the Ondo State capital, a resident of one of the attacked communities, who simply identified himself as Sunday, disclosed that many people were killed by the bandits.

Sunday, who spoke with newsmen on Monday, said many residents in the communities fled their homes to seek refuge in the bush.

Sunday explained that the attack started last week Monday, but a fresh one was launched on Saturday morning.

He said: “They attacked our communities when everyone was asleep; they opened gun fire on anyone in sight.
