Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has said she is no longer interested in getting married following her separation from her estranged husband, Ned Nwoko.
The actress, who has two sons, made the remark during a livestream with TikToker Jarvis at her Children’s Day carnival in Asaba, Delta State.
Despite her stance on marriage, Daniels expressed a strong desire to have more children, particularly a daughter, noting that she feels her experience of motherhood is incomplete without a girl child.
“But for some reason, I’ve checked my mind out of getting married. I’m yet to have a girl, and I must have a girl,” she said.
She explained that raising a girl child comes with a unique emotional responsibility, adding that mothers often serve as primary role models for their daughters.
According to her, while boys can be guided with the influence of a father figure, raising a girl requires a deeper level of personal example from the mother.
Daniels also reflected on family dynamics, suggesting that women tend to maintain stronger emotional ties to their homes compared to men, who often shift focus to their own families after marriage.
The actress married Nwoko in 2019, a union that attracted widespread attention due to their significant age difference. The marriage, which produced two sons, later became strained in 2025 following allegations by Nwoko that Daniels was battling substance abuse and required rehabilitation.
Daniels denied the claims, accusing the senator of manipulation and psychological control. She subsequently left the marriage and moved into her own residence, maintaining that she is now single.
Her latest comments highlight a shift in her personal outlook, as she focuses on motherhood and her future outside of marriage.
