Prince Odianosen Okojie, husband of Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for a second-term bid to the House of Representatives.
The primary was held on Saturday in Edo State, paving the way for Okojie to seek re-election to represent Esan North-East/Esan South-East Federal Constituency, a seat he first won in the 2023 general election on the APC platform.
His victory in the primaries boosts his chances of returning to the National Assembly as the party prepares for the next election cycle, following the governorship victory of Monday Okpebholo in the state.
In a statement shared on social media, Okojie expressed appreciation to party leaders, supporters, and the governor for their support.
“I am deeply honoured to emerge victorious in the APC primary election,” he said, thanking Governor Okpebholo and the party for entrusting him with the ticket.
He also acknowledged the backing of party members and constituents, describing the win as a collective achievement.
“This victory belongs to everyone who believes in purposeful leadership, unity, and effective representation,” he added.
Okojie pledged to continue serving his constituency with dedication and integrity, promising to build on existing progress and strengthen representation.
Beyond his political career, he has drawn public interest due to his marriage to Mercy Johnson-Okojie, one of Nigeria’s most prominent film stars, who has been a visible supporter of his political ambitions.
