A mob has attacked the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) outpost at Danmaje in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State, killing three suspects and setting the facility ablaze.
The Kano NSCDC Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, December 29, 2025.
Abdullahi said the incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2025, when residents of Yansango community brought three unidentified suspects alleged to be motorcycle thieves to the NSCDC outpost at Danmaje.
He said the suspects were reportedly apprehended at a location known for motorcycle robbery within the area.
He said before any investigation could commence, the residents from various communities, including Yansango, Madinawa, Gagarawa, Limawa, Yankatsari, Danmaje and Gurjiya, converged at the outpost and demanded that the suspects be released to them.
The NSCDC spokesman stated: “The situation escalated rapidly as the mob cordoned off the office.

“Before reinforcement could arrive, the mob forcefully gained entry into the outpost, set it on fire and lynched the three suspects.
“Our officers on duty escaped, with three of them sustaining various degrees of injury, now receiving medical attention.”
He appealed to the residents of Dawakin Kudu and the public to remain calm as well as avoid taking the law into their hands.
Abdullahi stated that the NSCDC State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan-Agalama, through the directive of the Commandant-General, had constituted a committee of inquiry to conduct a full-scale investigation into the incident.
He said efforts were ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack, with a view to bringing them to justice.
