Mother of Jigawa APC senatorial candidate regains freedom

Fatima Ibrahim, the abducted mother of the senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State, Tijani Ibrahim Gaya, has regained freedom.

The mother of the senatorial candidate for Jigawa South-West was kidnapped last week from her house in Kiyawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

It was, however, gathered that Ibrahim was rescued in Kano.

Confirming the release, the Jigawa State Police Public Relations Officer, Lawan Adamu, told journalists that the senatorial candidate’s mother was found in Danladi Nasidi Quarters in Kumbotso LGA of Kano State.

Adamu, however, failed to disclose if ransom was paid for the release of Ibrahim.

The Star had reported that a similar incident occurred in Kano State when the mother of APC senatorial candidate in Kano, A. A. Zaura, was kidnapped before she was rescued by the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Jigawa.
