Dr. Abdulhamid Balarabe, Chairman, Board of Management of the hospital, made the disclosure at the third stakeholders’ meeting on Sunday, in Zaria.

He said that the establishment of the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the hospital would enable it train more health personnel in accordance with Shariah doctrines.

Balarabe added that the proposed training institution would also provide additional manpower that would improve services at the hospital.

He stated: “It will also help in reducing the dearth of human resources for health in the long run.

“The land is there for the construction and a design estimated to cost about N2.39 million had been produced.

“In order to further improve services and revenue for the hospital, a diagnostics complex has been proposed to replace the outgrown units we have at the moment.

“The design estimated to cost N174 million had also been produced,” he said.
