Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general election in the state.
Mutfwang emerged as the winner after securing the highest votes in the APC governorship primary election in the state.
The Chairman of the Election Committee for Plateau State, Fidelis Mnyim, declared the governor winner in Jos on Friday, May 22, 2026.

Mnyim said the governor polled 233,335 votes to defeat his rival, Commodore Yilchini Bida (rtd), who scored 3,070 votes.
H said: “As the chairman of this committee, I wish to declare that Caleb Mutfwang, having scored the highest votes and satisfied the requirements of APC constitution, as the winner of the primary.
“Therefore, he is returned as the elected governorship candidate for Plateau State in the 2027 general election.”
