My monthly spending in Nigeria hits $300,000 — Davido

Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star Davido has revealed that his monthly personal expenses in Nigeria range between $200,000 and $300,000, excluding spending on his wife, household, luxury cars and jewellery.

The singer made the disclosure during a live conversation on Davrel Twitch on Tuesday while comparing his lifestyle in Nigeria with his spending in the United States.

According to him, he spends less in America because his household there is limited to himself, his wife and their children.

“I actually spend less in Yankee because I live with just me, my wife and my kids,” Davido said.

He explained that his expenses increase significantly whenever he is in Nigeria because of his social lifestyle.

“When I’m around, I spend a lot more. We are balling every day,” he added.

Asked to estimate his monthly spending, the singer said it usually falls between $200,000 and $300,000, noting that the amount reflects only his personal expenses.

“I can’t tell you how much, but I can tell you like 300. Normally, probably like 200 to 300.

“This is minus my wife and the house… that one is closed. Minus buying jewellery or buying car,” he said.

Davido also spoke about plans to establish a mental health therapy centre for former celebrities who struggle to cope after losing fame and success.

“If there is one thing I could do, I would build a centre for people that have been popular and very successful before,” he said.
