A jet belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reportedly crashed in a community in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
A video of the incident was posted on Facebook on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
Two pilots were said to have escaped from the aircraft before it crashed near Karabonde community in Niger State.
The NAF confirmed the incident via a statement issued by its Director of Public Relations and Information, Ehimen Ejodame.
Ejodame said the incident occurred during the inspection test conducted at NAF Base in Kainji.
Ejodame said the aircraft had taken off for a routine functional check when it developed a sudden emergency.

He said the pilots remained calm, expertly manoeuvred the jet away from populated areas and then executed a safe ejection in line with global aviation safety procedures.
Ejodame said the crew’s swift action demonstrated high discipline, competence, and dedication to duty.
He added that the pilots were immediately recovered and were undergoing routine medical checks.
He quoted the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, as commending the pilots for their sound judgement, noting that their professionalism averted what could have been a major tragedy.
