The naira opened the week with further appreciation against the United States dollar at the official market, trading at N1,429.30 on Monday, January 5, 2026.
Data released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the naira gained N1.54.
This represents a 0.1 per cent gain when compared to Friday, January 2, 2026, when it traded at N1,430.84 to a dollar.
The gain represents sustained appreciation for the local currency.
