The naira further depreciated at the official market on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, trading at N1,379.06 against the United States dollar.
Data released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) revealed that the naira lost N3.32.
This represented a 0.24 per cent loss when compared to Tuesday, when the local currency traded at N1,375.74.

The currency which opened the trading week on Monday with gain of N1.92 at the official market, recorded its first loss of N7.47 on Tuesday.

The naira had earlier experienced weeklong appreciation before dipping on Tuesday and extending the loss into Wednesday.
