The naira further depreciated at the official market on Friday, March 6, 2026, trading at N1,393.25 against the United States dollar.
Data released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the naira lost N5.80.
This represents a 0.4 per cent loss when compared to Thursday, when the local currency traded at N1387.44 to the dollar.

The currency which has experienced weeklong depreciation also suffered a free fall the previous week. On Monday, March 2, the local currency traded at N1,378.02 per dollar.
On Tuesday, the local currency traded at N1,384.29, while it traded at N1,387.09 on Wednesday.
