Naira trades 1,593/$ at official market

The naira closed at the rate of N1,593.62 against the United States dollar at the official market on Thursday, August 8, 2024.

This was contained in the data on the official trading platform of the FMDQ Exchange, a platform that oversees the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM).

It represents a 0.18 per cent loss when compared to the trading on Wednesday, August 7, when the local currency exchanged at N1,593.38 to a dollar.

CBN offers $876m to forex market, pledges more liquidity support

The naira traded at an intra-day high of N1,616 and a low of N1,520 to a dollar on Thursday.

Dollar supply between willing sellers and willing buyers also increased to $141.99 million on Thursday from $93.92 million recorded on Wednesday.
