Naira trades N1,533/$ at official market

The naira closed the week slightly weaker on Friday, August 1, 2025, as it lost 19 kobo against the United States dollar at the official market.

The naira traded at N1,533.74 against the dollar on Friday.

Data released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the currency traded at N1,533.55 on Thursday.

China pledges full zero-tariff access for Nigerian exports

On Wednesday, the naira depreciated to N1,534.52, compared to the trading figures on Tuesday when it traded at N1,533.18.

On Monday the local currency opened the trading week with slight gain trading at N1,534.20 to a dollar.
