The All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded its senatorial primary elections in Ekiti State, with Opeyemi Bamidele, Cyril Fasuyi and Yemi Adaramodu emerging as candidates for Ekiti Central, Ekiti North and Ekiti South respectively ahead of the 2027 general election.
Announcing the results in Ado Ekiti, the chairman of the primary election committee and chief returning officer, Asipa Wasiu Adedoyin, declared Bamidele winner of the Ekiti Central senatorial primary. The Senate leader, who contested unopposed, secured 29,586 votes.
In Ekiti North, Fasuyi, the incumbent senator, won the ticket after polling 14,179 votes to defeat former senator Ayo Arise, who scored 4,868 votes, and Engr Bamisaye Oladipupo, who garnered 3,694 votes in a closely contested race.
For Ekiti South, Adaramodu clinched victory with 12,200 votes, defeating former senator Biodun Olujimi, who polled 7,420 votes, and Hon Bamidele Faparusi, who secured 5,502 votes.
Adedoyin commended party members for the peaceful conduct of the primaries across the three senatorial districts, noting that the exercise was transparent and aligned with the party’s guidelines.
