The Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court sitting in Lagos State has sentenced Prince Tom, a 35-year-old native doctor, to double life imprisonment for abducting and defiling a 15-year-old daughter of one of his patients (name withheld).
Justice Abiola Soladoye, who described Tom as a toxic being whose attitude even in the dock is wicked and deadly, sentenced the native doctor base on the two-count charge of kidnapping and defilement.
Soladoye, on Wednesday, stressed that the evidence of Prosecution Witness One (PW1), who happened to be the victim had remained constant, and it is the fact, because it remains an actual narration of what occurred, and remain unshaken even during cross examination.
The Judge further noted that the facts of the victim’s evidence were also supported by the evidence of PW2, who happened to be the victim’s mother as well as all the other witnesses.
The victim, The Star reports, had earlier told the court that Tom took her to Osmak Hotel in the Mushin area of Lagos State and defiled her at gunpoint.
The 15-year-old girl further narrated that the native doctor fell asleep after the defilement and left the key of the hotel room on the bed.
She added that she was able to escape from the room and alerted staff of the hotel about her ordeal.
Ruling, Justice Soladoye, who warned parents not to trust their children with people who they know nothing about, sentenced Tom to life imprisonment for count one and life imprisonment for count two.
She noted that the sentences are to run concurrently.
