Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a suspected drug trafficker who concealed narcotics inside baby diapers while travelling to the Federal Capital Territory.
The suspect, 32-year-old businessman Emeka Hyginus Okwor, was intercepted on March 3, 2026, in a vehicle travelling from Obollo-Afor in Enugu State to Zuba in Abuja.
According to NDLEA sources, a search of his luggage revealed 1,000 pills of tapentadol (250mg) hidden inside baby diapers.
During interrogation, Okwor admitted ownership of the drugs and disclosed that he was transporting the consignment to Guduwa village in Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State, where he operates a provision store.
The interception is part of the agency’s intensified operations to curb the movement of illicit drugs across major transport routes.
