NEMA receives 175 stranded Nigerians from Libya

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received another batch of 175 stranded Nigerians from Libya.

The stranded Nigerians were received at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos State at about 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Director General of NEMA, Alhaji Mustapha Habib Ahmed, who was represented by the coordinator of the Lagos Territorial Office of the agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, received the returnees at the Lagos airport.

Farinloye stated that the returnees arrived at the Cargo Wing of the Lagos airport aboard Boeing 737-800 Al Buraq Air with registration number 5A-DMG.

The NEMA coordinator said the returnees are 64 female adults, 12 female children, and 5 infant females.

“Also, the profile indicated that male adults are 77, male children 11 and 6 infant males making a total of 94 males were brought back including 4 medical cases, 2 females and 2 males,” Farinloye noted.

He added that the stranded Nigerians were brought back into the country by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) with funding from European Union.
