New Year: Corps member delivers first baby in Ebonyi

A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Chidimma Attah-Favour, has delivered the first baby of the year in Ebonyi State.

The wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Racheal Umahi, welcomed the first baby at about 12.52 a.m. at the Alex-Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, the state capital on Sunday, January 1, 2023.

The baby girl, weighing 3kg at birth, was delivered by Attah-Favour, a corps member serving in Ebonyi but hails from Nsukka, Enugu State.

Speaking during her visit to the first baby delivered through Spontenous Vagina Delivery (SVD), Umahi prayed and thanked God for safe delivery.

The governor’s wife commended the management of the hospital for their commitment and attention to ensure safe delivery.
