The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has announced the promotion of nine Deputy Directors to the rank of Directors, alongside 234 other staff across various cadres.
The promotions, approved by the Governing Board of the agency, saw 30 Assistant Directors elevated to Deputy Directors, 35 Chiefs promoted to Assistant Directors, while 169 other staff were advanced to the next grade level.
Among the new Directors are Mrs. Moji Jimoh (Coordinator, Abuja Liaison Office), Dr. Odunayo Ani (Director, Internal Audit), Mrs. Nneka Obianyor (Special Adviser to the DG), Mrs. Biodun Fatade (Director, Procurement), Dr. Oma Ofodile, Ms. Gloria Anyasodo, Mr. Abdulahi Yelwa, Mr. Umar Buba, and Mr. Umar Ibrahim Sidi.
Congratulating the beneficiaries, the Director General of NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, reaffirmed management’s commitment to staff welfare and transparent career progression. He urged the newly promoted officers to see their elevation as motivation to deliver greater results.
“Our administration is committed to improved staff welfare. This promotion exercise is strictly merit-based, and we expect staff to reciprocate by rededicating themselves to higher productivity. We will continue to prioritize staff welfare, while counting on your commitment to the ideals of the Agency in helping Management actualize its mandate,” Mobereola said.
The DG emphasized that the agency will sustain a fair and merit-driven promotion system, designed to inspire excellence and professionalism in service delivery.
