The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast a mix of sunshine and thunderstorms across the country from Wednesday to Friday, October 24, 2025.
In its weather outlook released on Tuesday, October 21, NiMet predicted that the northern region will experience sunny skies on Wednesday morning, with a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms later in the day, particularly in southern Taraba State.
For the central region, the agency expects sunny skies with patches of clouds in the morning, followed by isolated thunderstorms and moderate rainfall in parts of Kogi, Kwara, Benue, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Nasarawa during the afternoon and evening.
NiMet further projected a cloudy atmosphere in the southern states, with possibilities of morning thunderstorms and light rains in Edo, Ogun, Ondo, Ebonyi, Cross River, Rivers, Lagos, and Akwa Ibom.
Thunderstorms with moderate rainfall are anticipated across most parts of the South later in the day.

According to the agency, Thursday’s weather pattern will remain similar, as the northern region will witness sunny conditions in the morning, with chances of isolated thunderstorms in southern Taraba by afternoon and evening.
The central region will experience partly cloudy skies early in the day, giving way to isolated thunderstorms over Kwara, Kogi, Benue, FCT, and Nasarawa later in the day.
NiMet also forecast morning thunderstorms and light rains in southern states such as Ondo, Imo, Edo, Ebonyi, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom, followed by moderate rainfall and thunderstorms in most parts of the region later in the day.
For Friday, the agency predicted continued sunny skies over the northern region in the morning, with isolated thunderstorms expected in southern Taraba by afternoon.
The central region will experience partly cloudy conditions early in the day, transitioning to thunderstorms and moderate rains in Benue, FCT, Kwara, Kogi, and Nasarawa later in the day.
In the southern region, NiMet anticipates cloudy skies with morning thunderstorms and light rains in Osun, Ogun, Ondo, Ebonyi, Lagos, Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom, followed by moderate rainfall and thunderstorms across most areas in the afternoon and evening.
