Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been named the fourth-best goalkeeper in women’s football for the 2024/25 season.
The 24-year-old shot-stopper earned her place among the top five female goalkeepers at the prestigious Ballon d’Or ceremony held in Paris, France, on Monday night.
England’s Hannah Hampton claimed the inaugural Yachine Trophy for best female goalkeeper, followed by Ann-Katrin Berger of Germany in second place and Spain’s Cata Coll in third.
Nnadozie finished ahead of Daphne van Domselaar of the Netherlands, rounding out the top five.
This marks the first-ever edition of the women’s Yachine Trophy, and Nnadozie’s nomination makes her the first African goalkeeper to be recognised for the award.

Nnadozie’s stellar performances have been key to Nigeria’s dominance on the continent.
She helped the Super Falcons clinch their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco, keeping four clean sheets in six matches and earning the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper award.
She has also been named CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year twice and remains one of the most consistent performers for Nigeria’s national team.
Meanwhile, Super Falcons coach Justine Madugu missed out on the Best Women’s Coach award, which went to Sarina Wiegman for guiding England to victory at the 2025 UEFA Women’s European Championship.
