The company disclosed that 10 beneficiaries will undertake postgraduate studies in various universities abroad, including Imperial College, London; The Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen; Newcastle University, United Kingdom; University of Aberdeen, Scotland; University of Hull, United Kingdom.

The NAE said the remaining awardees will pursue their postgraduate studies in Nigerian universities in disciplines such as Engineering, Geosciences, Petroleum and Environmental Technology, Energy Economics, Renewable Energy, and Energy Transition.

The Vice Chairman and Managing Director of NAE, Maurizio Pinna, stated that the initiative contributes to promoting human capital development, offering an opportunity for young and talented Nigerians to develop new skills relevant for the Oil and Gas industry.

“The award highlights our company’s continuous commitment to the future of education, innovation, and capacity building in Nigeria” he added.

Pinna urged the beneficiaries to utilise the opportunity to study and gain valuable skills for the benefit of the country, especially within the energy industry.

The NAE noted that the postgraduate scholarship scheme was instituted by NNPC-NAE PSC partners in 2007 as part of the company’s human capital development initiatives to promote knowledge acquisition and bridge the skills gap in specialized fields relevant to deep offshore Oil and Gas operations in Nigeria.

It added that 380 graduates have so far benefitted from the postgraduate scholarship scheme.
