The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has once again raised the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, at its retail outlets.
NNPCL stations in Abuja’s Wuse Zone 6 and Zone 4 areas have adjusted their pump price from ₦890 to ₦905 per litre, representing a ₦15 increase, or roughly a 1.7% upward review.
The President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Abubakar Maigandi, attributed the latest price hike to recent supply disruptions caused by the standoff between the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and the Dangote Refinery.
“It is due to PENGASSAN’s strike disruption. However, our members are still selling between ₦885 and ₦895 per litre,” Maigandi said.
The recent tension between PENGASSAN and the Dangote Refinery over the alleged mass sacking of Nigerian workers led to a two-day strike, which temporarily disrupted fuel supply.
The strike was later suspended following federal government intervention, restoring operations across the sector.
