No child will be left behind in digital literacy drive — Uba Sani

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding digital literacy, promoting innovation and ensuring equal learning opportunities for every child across the state.

He made this known on Tuesday at the “Class Is Open Everywhere” DigiTruck Digital Skills Training Programme, stressing that no child would be left behind, regardless of whether they live in urban or rural communities.

Represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Barrister Gloria Ibrahim, the governor said access to technology and digital skills is no longer optional but essential in today’s world.

According to him, students in Kaduna must not only receive formal education but also be equipped with practical digital competencies to thrive in the modern economy.

He explained that the programme features a fully equipped mobile digital classroom that will visit secondary schools across the state, taking learning directly to students and removing barriers created by location.

The initiative, he said, will introduce participants to basic computing, artificial intelligence fundamentals, digital creativity and other critical 21st-century skills that determine employability, innovation and leadership.

Sani disclosed that during its stay in Kaduna, the DigiTruck is expected to visit between 20 and 30 schools across the state’s three zones, reaching more than 1,000 students.

He noted that for many of the students, the exposure would mark their first hands-on experience with technology and could shape their future career paths.

The governor expressed confidence that the programme would spark curiosity, build confidence and inspire students to see themselves not just as users of technology, but as creators and problem-solvers.

He urged participants to take full advantage of the opportunity by actively engaging in the training and exploring new possibilities in the digital space.
