Nollywood actor Harry B seeks support for ailing actress Maureen Okpoko

Veteran Nollywood actor and musician Harry B Anyanwu has appealed to colleagues and well-meaning Nigerians to rally support for actress Maureen Okpoko, who has reportedly been battling blindness for several years.

In a video shared on X on Monday, Anyanwu disclosed that Okpoko requires financial assistance to access medical treatment that could help restore her sight.

Speaking from Enugu State, where he visited the veteran actress, Anyanwu described her as a respected figure in the Nigerian film industry and urged the Nollywood community not to abandon her in her time of need.

“I am here in Enugu with my sister of inestimable value, Maureen Okpoko. Nollywood, let’s come together and support her. She is blind, but there is hope that her sight can be restored,” he said.

The actor appealed to fellow actors, actresses and members of the public to contribute towards her medical care, expressing optimism that timely intervention could help her regain her vision.

He added that collective support from the public and the entertainment industry could give the veteran actress another chance at recovery and a return to good health.
