Northern PDP leaders cashing out in Edo – BoT Member

A member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Charles Idahosa has accused some national officers of the party from northern states of acting as mercenaries bent on selling the soul of the party in Edo State to the highest bidder.

Idahosa, who served as political adviser to the Governor Adams Oshiomhole administration, spoke at a stakeholders’ meeting hosted by the party’s national vice chairman, Chief Dan Orbih, according to a statement issued by the Orbih Media Office.

Speaking against the background of controversies that trailed the recent election of ward ad-hoc delegates, the PDP BoT member warned that if the issues raised by the nine aspirants were not immediately resolved that the PDP would be good as dead and buried in the state.

With nine of the 10 governorship aspirants present at the stakeholders’ meeting, Idahosa further alleged that the conspiracies that led to the crisis in the party were fuelled by PDP officials from core northern states presently controlled by the APC who having failed to deliver their states to the PDP were now on a mission to cash out in Edo State.

Edo PDP: Orbih backs protesting aspirants, tackles Enugu Governor

Noting what he claimed as Governor Godwin Obaseki’s determination to destroy those who helped him in the past, he said: “That’s exactly what is happening. He is fighting the leadership of the Legacy and all our members are running away and collecting SSAs. I want to make a prediction and I am directing this to our national vice-chairman to carry it to the NWC.

“The people who are doing whatever they are doing are from Yobe, Sokoto, all Northern States, they will collect what they want to collect and let all of us die here. They don’t care because they are not from here. But I want him to carry this message.

“I Charles Idahosa, OFR, if they don’t do the right thing, and correct this anomaly, PDP is dead in Edo State.”
