The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has shut down all branches of Inner Galaxy Steel Company and Jiuxing Integrity Industrial Ltd over alleged involvement in terrorism financing and the vandalism of public infrastructure.
In a statement issued on Monday, the agency said it obtained a court order to seal the companies’ facilities nationwide following investigations into offences including conspiracy, destruction and theft of railway infrastructure, and concealment of stolen property.
The Corps disclosed that operatives from the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad carried out a raid on one of the firms’ factories in Birnin Yero, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where vandalised government assets were recovered.
According to the statement, investigations revealed a coordinated network in which stolen infrastructure materials were transported to the companies’ facilities in Aba and other locations, where they were melted and recycled into commercial products such as nails and roofing sheets.
The NSCDC added that some arrested staff members made confessional statements linking the companies to the illegal operations.
It further noted that the management of the firms, reportedly owned by Chinese nationals, had been invited for questioning but had yet to honour the summons.
The Commandant General, Ahmed Audi, directed that all suspects found culpable in the case be prosecuted, warning that the Corps would pursue the matter to its logical conclusion.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to tackling economic sabotage and protecting critical national infrastructure across the country.
