The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has declared full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging to mobilise millions of young Nigerians across the 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory, and the diaspora to ensure his re-election.

NYCN President, Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, announced the decision at a press briefing in Abuja over the weekend, stating that it followed broad consultations with youth leaders nationwide.

He said the resolution represents a unified voice of Nigerian youths determined to consolidate the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration and secure a more prosperous future for the nation.

“After due consideration of national developments under President Tinubu, the Nigerian youth have resolved to declare their unflinching support for him to seek a second term in 2027,” Sukubo said.

“On behalf of over 60 million Nigerian youths, we call on President Tinubu to declare his intention to contest.”

Sukubo noted that the council’s mobilisation drive would extend to all 774 local government areas and youth groups in the diaspora.

He also announced that NYCN members are prepared to purchase the ruling party’s presidential nomination form for the President when the time comes.

He urged all NYCN state chapters, local government coordinators, and affiliate organisations to begin grassroots mobilisation in support of the resolution.
