NYSC announces start date for 2026 batch A stream I orientation course

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has set Wednesday, January 21, 2026, as the official start date for the 2026 Batch A Stream I Orientation Course across all 37 NYSC orientation camps nationwide.

According to a statement shared on the scheme’s official X account, camp registration will begin on January 21 and continue until midnight on Friday, January 23.

The swearing-in ceremony for prospective corps members is also scheduled for January 23.

The three-week programme will conclude with the closing ceremony on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, urged all prospective corps members to adhere to the schedule and travel safely to their states of deployment, advising against night journeys.

The orientation course remains a core requirement of the one-year national service, designed to promote unity and equip young graduates with skills through drills, entrepreneurship training and civic lectures.
