The Ogun State Government has assured the people of the state to make some roads which were damaged by the ongoing rainy season motorable.
The Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, gave the assurance while inspecting the level of damage caused by erosion on some roads across the state on Thursday, July 13, 2023.
Akinsanya said the Ogun State Government was aware of the challenges confronting the people, particularly road users.
He said: “The rainy season is here and we are aware of the attendant challenges it has on our roads.
“However the government is monitoring the situation and is already putting adequate palliative measures in place to arrest the menace.”

The Special Adviser listed some of the roads to include Mowe-Ofada Road in Obafemi Local Government; the second lane of Adatan-More Junction in Abeokuta South Local Government; and Akute-Alagbole in Ifo Local Government Area; among others.
Akinsanya said the roads, alongside others will receive adequate attention immediately after the rain subsides, adding that the reconstruction of sections of the Ijoko-Akute road is ongoing in phases.
He reassured residents of the state that their well-being and welfare remain the utmost priority of the state government, adding that Governor Abiodun is resolute and committed to improving not only the economic viabilityof the state but make life more bearable for the citizens.
He said: “Engineers are currently working at the Sango Ota-Ijoko-Akute-Alagbole road, whose reconstruction project has been divided into phases.
“We are currently working on Ijoko Ota bridge down to Abule area as construction work extends further towards Gas-line and Itoki area which forms part of the ongoing phase that is 8.5km long.
“We assure our people that as a government, we would continue to make their welfare and well-being a major priority, just as we have done in the last four years.”
